It'll Soon be 2026

I'm writing this at the start of December 2025, the Christmas twig is up and illuminated.
And our plans for 2026 are in place already!

We've got three trips booked - yes, booked.
I'm so organised!

As one of us is celebrating her 70th birthday (that's not me!) we are going on a cruise.
And just to ring the changes after this year's rail mis-adventure, we have booked a Saga package trip to Italy.
But to kick it all off, we are going to Cumbria with our daughter in May.

The Cumbria trip, to somewhere near Grange-over-Sands is to a pair of linked lodges. We will take two cars so we can explore separately, but we'll have the opportunity to get together as & when we want.

June / July is the cruise from Southampton. The ultimate destination is Iceland, but we'll see Scotland, the Faroes and Belfast.

To round the trips off we will be going to the eastern Italian seaside, not far from San Marino. We will be flying (boo! hiss!) from Heathrow with BA again, which should make things a lot more bearable. Saga also include all (and that's ALL) ground transport - so that's a lot less to fret about.

So - no booked train adventures, and the budget is maxed out, but we'll see how the year pans out!
